On one hand, Little Bangkok, Atlanta’s best Thai restaurant, serves free fortune cookies after a five star Thai cuisine goodness. Goofing off, I opened my fortune cookie to see what magic was in store for me.
On the other hand, I think the Bible could be like a fortune cookie, so many books waiting to be read and loved again. The world’s libraries are like a magnet that irresistibly draws book lovers and have a wonderful supply of Bibles containing magnificent words that carry spiritual power.
I cracked open the crispy wafer that encompassed a narrow strip of paper printed with hazy news,
Don’t give up. Things will get better by the end of the month.
Do you know what it’s like to get a promise like that and not trust it? I read the message several times very slowly, trying to constructively imagine how I could get out from underneath the temporary four foot set of steps that fell over on top of me, and my acute, impulsive behaviors to escape, implode, isolate and throw a temper tantrum. Though unconvincing and quiet objectionable these intimations were, unexpected results followed.
I went online and Googled the words, “Help.” like, when I was five, I stuck out my thumb for a ride off the interstate, for goodness sake!
