The Ferryman

Stacy Sweeney after Corot | The Ferryman | 12″x16″ | Oil on Belgian Linen Panel | January 10, 2024

Come, capture the essence

romantic, late in the day sunset

summer season’s ended

yes! autumn has begun

I’m not a singular person

but the same mark in two places

though it seems like I’m in reverse

patience cast a line of peace

I can’t see it, I’m too close

the ferryman’s floatng on top of the lake

and when blue’s the only color in me

I paint it like icing on a two layer cake
