Lay Me in the Dust

I broke out of the womb with instability, a twisted ankle, and a broken collar bone. If I broke one, I broke them all. Sin took me deeper and farther than I wanted to go. I got myself into something I couldn’t control. I kept fighting, and I kept losing. I was intent to run. I only thought I knew peace and freedom. If I stay in self, I will become unlovable and distrustful. Lay me in the dust.

Lay Me in the Dust

Lay me in the dust
turn my back on dirty self
oh my gosh it hurts
