In honor of my mother on Valentine’s Day
I thought I would act neighborly and ladylike
so she sent me to borry some vanilla, oil, and sugar
because she wanted to say sorry with her heart shaped cookies
but our cupboard was empty
have you opened a hungry cupboard?
have you told it to hold on just enough?
have you climbed up a step stool in a dress?
