How Is It Today?

How is it today?
in this moment, in an hour
pleasant petals separated
do you love me today?
Lord wants to know that every day

as the flower grows unto the sun
I receive his radiance
contact at my right hand
he seasons me asleep

| sometimes the sun | ceases to shine |
| sometimes the rain | stops dropping down |
| sometimes the clouds | form all around |

how is it today?
in this moment, in an hour
where I walk I leave a scent of gently bruised flowers
I don’t like it, I don’t approve
suffer me Lord I love you

as the flower turns to face the sun
I thought he had forsaken
suddenly out of no place
he manifests to me
