Bankrupt and the devil’s calling my bluff
life’s a gamble with a sound amount of trouble
I think we’d be better off all around
if we lay our cards down on the table

Ever will my debt be satisfied
I’m now living on nickels and dimes
Eden was left way back in exile
I’m breaking even with a cover up smile

It’s hard to live on this bare-bones budget
cause you’re the stuff that dreams are made of
all the blood’s draining to my head like water trickling down the edge of a cliff
God sometimes sends a dove

Ever will my debt be satisfied
I’m now living on nickels and dimes
Eden was left way back in exile
I’m breaking even with a cover up smile

I remember the right and forget the wrong
I wax and wane like a phase of the moon
where does a man find inspiration to write a song
there’s a preview of attractions coming soon
